Sie wurden mit dem Gedanken an moderne Karpfenmontagen entworfen, die das Ausspucken des Köders erheblich erschweren. Am Schaft des Hakens richtig platziert, fungieren sie als Puffer für den Ring, sodass dieser keine Möglichkeit hat, sich zum Hakenknie zu verschieben.
